DBNM in the first half of 2022 with positive results, and with the support of companies in times of economic and energy crisis
Development Bank of North Macedonia AD Skopje (DBNM), as the only development bank in full state ownership, achieved positive results in the first half of 2022, putting all of its financial and operational capacity into the function of achieving the basic goal for which it was established - supporting the development of the Macedonian economy in accordance with the strategic policies, goals, and priorities of the state.
In the context of the recovery of the domestic economy from the health and energy crisis, the Bank's activities this year are aimed at supporting business entities in the direction of reducing the consequences of the economic and energy crisis caused by geopolitical developments, with the aim of easier access to liquid funds.
In the period from 01.01.2022 to 30.06.2022, the Bank operated in accordance with the adopted financial plan, development plan, and business policy for the current year, and achieved a positive net financial result of MKD 45 million (EUR 732 thousand), which is almost twice as much compared to the achieved result in the same period of 2021. The total assets of the Bank have increased by 43% and amount to MKD 16.4 billion, with a corresponding growth of the credit portfolio by 54%, and of the exposure based on the factoring service by 200%.
In the first half of the year, DBNM withdrew the last three tranches of the EIB 6 credit line in the amount of EUR 40.8 million. As a result, all EUR 100 million from this credit line has already been put into operation to support small and medium-sized companies. At the same time, the Bank introduced new credit lines and eased the terms of the credit line for the agricultural sector:
