30/12/2025

On 30 December 2025, the Development Bank withdrew the tenth and final tranche of the EIB 7 credit line intended for the green transition. The total amount of this tranche is EUR 9,251,488. The funds from this tranche are allocated to support 17 Macedonian companies, predominantly operating in the manufacturing sector. With the disbursement of this tranche, the Development Bank completed the implementation of the seventh phase of the credit line funded by the European Investment Bank, amounting to EUR 100 million.

The implementation of the seventh phase of the EIB credit line commenced with the signing of a financial loan agreement between the Development Bank of North Macedonia and the European Investment Bank, focusing on SMEs and mid-cap companies, as well as the green transition. The loans were disbursed through five qualified intermediary banks, with an interest rate of up to 3.5% per annum to final beneficiaries. The repayment period is up to 12 years for investment loans and Mid-cap projects, and up to 3 years for working capital loans.

Through the EIB 7 credit line, 259 projects of Macedonian companies were supported. The EIB 7 credit line achieved the objectives for which it was created: increasing liquidity in the economy, retaining existing jobs and making new ones, boosting exports, ensuring sustainable economic growth and competitiveness, as well as encouraging companies to invest in the green transition to achieve long-term cost savings through reduced energy consumption and the preservation, protection, or improvement of the environment.

To date, seven phases of the EIB credit line totaling EUR 650,000,000 have been implemented through the Development Bank. Funds from these credit lines have supported 2,621 projects of domestic companies and led to the creation of 9,260 jobs.
